Signature Course
Concept
- A world first 18 signature golf course that combines the design talents and strategic knowledge of the best golfers from around the world. A course that captures the scale and natural beauty of the site while insuring an intimate golfing experience for golfers of all levels.
Design & Construction
- The Legend Signature Course is a championship golf course that embraces its African location. The contouring of the fairways and greens made to mimic the surrounding mountains of the Waterberg.
- Routing and design by DDV with the assistance of David Riddle.
- Construction by Wonder Gardens.
- A world first in that it has 18 signatures.
- Each player gave strategic input on their respective holes and playing the course takes you on a journey around the world.

- The individual holes highlight the character of the 18 players.
- No expense has been spared in allowing the players to make the changes required to perfect each hole.
- Each player was required to take ownership of their respective holes and the competition between the players has resulted in an incredible amount of detail being giving to each hole.
- Grasses: Fairway – Kikuyu; Tees – Kikuyu; Greens – Bent and rough – indigenous grass mix.
- Growing in of the golf course will take a full calendar year to ensure we open in pristine condition and are immediately giving world platinum status.
Playing Information and Membership
- Opening for play on the 1st March, 2009 and bookings will be taken in September 2008. After that bookings for the golf course will work a year in advance.
- The Signature Course will operate as a resort course that has members.
- Day visitors and guests will be allowed and in fact will form the bulk of our cliental.
- Membership will be limited to those people who have bought property on the development (480).
- Members will be allowed preferential booking of the member’s times which will be kept open at all times for them. Members’ times not confirmed 1 week before tee off will revert back to the resort for guests.
- The membership will be split up into the following categories:
- Full member
- Family member
- Corporate member
- First year’s membership fees will be due on the 1st of March, 2009 when the golf course opens. The first years membership is estimated to be approximately R10 000.00 for a full member. The exact fees are still to be determined.
- Green fees are estimated at R650 per round including your cart fee.
- Various tournaments will be hosted at the Signature Course; these will include both professional and amateur tournaments.
- The golf course will operate on a one tee start system with strict control over the pace of play. Players who do not adhere to the pace of play will be asked to leave.
- Golf carts are available but are not compulsory.
- There will be wild animals on the golf course but none of the dangerous animals.
- Each group will have to have at least one ranger caddy / spotter with them; a levy of R100 per group per caddy / spotter will be charged for this service. This practice forms part of our overall social development plan.
- Players will be able to play off any one of 4 sets of tee markers.
- The dress regulations on the golf course and in the club house will be determined at a later stage.
- The club house will include pro-shop, gents’ and ladies’ locker rooms, golf connoisseur lounge, restaurants and various function and conference rooms.
- Rental clubs will be available from the pro-shop.

Golf Driving Range and Academy
Concept
- To create the best practice facility in the world that encourages players of all levels to spend time perfecting this game we all love.
Facilities
- A 450m driving range.
- A large tee box with four distinct playing surfaces allowing players to practice for any playing conditions. Target greens and a target fairway.
- Pitching area with a large tee box that has four distinct playing surfaces and three unique target greens that have different grass surfaces allowing a wide range of differing shot selections.
- Chipping green that allows players to practice any one of 125 unique shots.
- Undulating putting green with flat areas.
- Teaching studio with the latest in swing analysing equipment.
- Grassed putt-putt course for the whole family to enjoy.
- Restaurant and bar.
- Change rooms.
- A fully-equipped golfer’s gym.
- Small pro shop.

Tribute Golf Course
Concept
- To allow golfers from around the world the opportunity, in a matter of 2 hours and at a single venue, to play the golf holes that have entertained and amazed us over the years.
Facilities
- Ten par three golf holes that pay tribute to the most famous and beautiful par threes in the world. Including Augusta’s 12th, the 17th from Sawgrass, ST Andrews Old Course 11th and the Postage Stamp.
- Restaurant overlooking the 10th island green.
Playing Information
- Green Fees R100.
- Opening date March 2009
- Hire clubs will be available.
- The golf course can be booked for corporate events.
Extreme 19
Concept
- A stand alone, real, extreme golfing experience that is unique in the world.
Design and Construction
- The brain child of Graham Cooke who stood on top of Hanglip Mountain and said “Why don’t we build a golf hole from up here?”
- Designed by David Riddle Design. The green in the shape of Africa with contouring that mimics the African continent with features like the rift valley and Mt Kilimanjaro.
- Construction by Wonder Gardens.
- Grass: Fairway - Cynoden; Green – Bent.
Playing Information
- 1 Million US dollar prize for a hole-in-1.
- Played in groups of 4.
- Costs will be approximately R2 000.00 per player. This will include the helicopter flight, golf balls, golf glove and certificate of completion with commemorative DVD.
- Will officially open with the Signature Course on 1st March, 2009. Special arrangements can be made to play the Extreme 19 before then.
